Biography

Marius Erikovich Weisberg (real name Balcunas, literary Marius Balčiūnas, born April 1, 1971, Moscow) is a Russian film director, screenwriter and producer, the author of Russian parodic comedy comedies. Mother - Lithuanian Dangoule Balchiunene (Lithuanian Danguolė Balčiūnienė) - worked for a long time in the trade mission of the Lithuanian SSR in Moscow. Father - Jew Ernst Markovich Weisberg (20.07.1934 - 09.03.2007) - director of paintings in the USSR, in modern Russia - producer, director of "Mosfilm-service" of the Mosfilm Concern. In Soviet times, he worked with Andrei Tarkovsky (Zerkalo), Andrei Konchalovsky ("Sibiriada"), and in the post-Soviet period was busy producing television series. In 1989 I entered the VGIK at the course of V. Naumov. Then he studied at the School of Cinematography and Television at the University of Southern California (USC School of Cinema-Television), received a diploma in 1996. His first work as a filmmaker was the film "No Vacancy" (1999).
